Have you bought hormones online?

Jessica Hodge from ITV News has been in touch about an item she is preparing for broadcast. Can you help her, please?

Hi,

I am a journalist for ITV News and am working on a story about DIY Transitioning. We would like to speak with anyone who has bought hormones online in order to medically transition, or may be considering doing so.

This could be anyone who has bought hormones/blockers online:

  • as a 'bridging' treatment until they are able to get an appointment with a gender clinic
  • someone who started the process of DIY transitioning, and has since transferred over to treatment through their GP/the NHS
  • and is currently using those hormones

We are looking at this from the point of view that the waiting lists for NHS services are extremely long, and for some taking matters into their own hands may be the only available option.

I understand this is a sensitive topic and anything you discuss with me, will be kept totally private and only shared with your permission.

Please get in touch with me if you would like to be involved in the story, or even if you feel you can help contribute to our understanding of this topic. I can be contacted at jessica.hodge@itn.co.uk

We just want it to be clear that this is not a piece that is trying to cause any harm or offence in any way. We are trying to provide education and clarity to ourselves, the government and our audience.
Understandably, people might not want to come forward, but we'd love to have conversations with people, even if they don't want to be interviewed for the piece.
