So called Transgender Conversion Therapy

We have received this email from Amy Sharpe who is a journalist with the Sunday Mirror. If you have experienced, or know anything about, Transgender Conversion Therapy, and would like to talk to her about it, her phone number is at the end of her message.

My name's Amy and I'm a reporter at the Sunday Mirror. I am looking to speak to anyone from the trans community who has undergone so-called transgender conversion therapy in the UK after finding some disturbing content on the IFTCC [International Federation for Therapeutic or Counselling Choice] website.
The organisation was registered in October, in response to the government's LGBTQ+ survey with Stonewall, published in July, where it was revealed that one in five transgender people have been pressured to undergo conversion therapy.
It appears that IFTCC provides referrals and advice for trans conversion - amongst other so-called 'therapies' - to supposedly help people who want to 'suppress' feelings of gender dysmorphia do so. They have published lectures from their spokespeople criticising society and parents for 'indulging' children by engaging with gender identity issues.
I wondered if you are familiar with this group - or others - who are promoting this type of unfounded 'therapy' - which has of course been disregarded by professional bodies - and if you have any case studies who have attended these kind of sessions and would speak out their effects? It would be helpful to understand just how damaging these sessions are and the kind of things that go on in them.
We are specifically interested in anyone who was made to attend one as a child/teen. We would of course include a comment from yourselves, back any ongoing campaigns related to the matter and highlight the need for transgender conversion to be eradicated in the UK.
It would be really good to have a chat if possible; if you could let me know if somebody's happy to speak to me that would be great. My number is 0207 293 3331.
Many thanks in advance,
Amy
