I have just returned from my local Royal Mail sorting office having handed over all the magazines for those members who have postal and combined membership. They should be with you in the next few days, but given the current circumstances, who knows? I hope that the pdf copy will go up on the website in the next few days, too.

I hope that you will enjoy reading issue 109 of the Beaumont Magazine. There are lots of interesting articles and stories, as well as many wonderful photographs. However, since it went to the printers the effects of Covid-19 have meant that some items within its pages are now inaccurate.

Kay’s Summer Harrogate Weekend which is advertised on the back page has now been cancelled. This is a great shame because these weekends are very popular and very successful. Kay and Irene work so hard to make sure that they are great fun, and to ensure that everyone – particularly those for whom it is the first time – is comfortable. The Spring Harrogate weekend which should have taken place between the 19^th and 22^ndMarch has been postponed until 29^th October. Kay and Irene will have contacted all those who had booked for that event, but the summer gathering will not take place this year.

On page 5 you can read the agenda for our Annual General Meeting which was due to take place on Saturday 18^th July during the Harrogate weekend. Consequently, this will not take place on that date. We will let you know in good time the new date for the AGM.

On page 13, there is an advertisement for Danielle’s TV Extravaganza Weekend at the end of May. Those who booked for this event will already know that it has been cancelled, but others may not be aware of this.

As so many events have been cancelled, Eleanor Roberts will need even more good photos from members for the next issue, as she explains on page 4. Why not experiment – but only send Eleanor the best ones. Send them to: editor@beaumontsociety.org.uk
