A new monthly magazine called Platinum has been launched by DC Thomson and Co. The target readership is women aged 55 and over. I mentioned in my report to the AGM in August, which is reproduced in the current issue of the Beaumont Magazine, that Barbie and I had been interviewed for this magazine but did not know if , or when, it might appear in print. However, it is now available in the December issue (published on 30th October!) As it is the 2nd issue of the magazine it is still available in supermarkets and newsagents at the reduced price of £2. We are happy with the article and hope that anyone who reads it will have a positive understanding about the different emotions and experiences that trans people and their families encounter whether or not someone transitions.
