It is with great sadness that I have to report that on 20th June 2021, Terry Reed OBE finally lost her long battle with cancer. The whole transgender community has lost one of their fiercest, and most able allies. She was a wonderful person who will be greatly missed who worked so hard for the trans community through setting up GIRES (Gender Identity Research and Education Society) and fighting for the rights of trans people. All of us at the Beaumont Society send our condolences to her husband Bernard, their family and the GIRES team.

She was a wonderful person I met her quite a few times with Bernard while I was president ,her work for all Trans has been so valuable for all our freedoms.
For which we can appreciate.
An Absolutely lovely person who will be sorely missed.
