Hi Karen, yes I thought it was an odd choice of words – unless they wanted to provoke discussion. Perhaps ‘needleworkers’ is too long for them.
‘Seamstress’ and ‘tailor’ are probably a bit too gendered these days…
The word “seamstress” always reminds me of Terry Pratchett’s description as “ladies of negotiable virtue”
